What is it?
In a general sense, positive risk-taking is the ability to take a measured risk for the overall benefit in the long term.
It is pushing fear aside fo the overall betterment of your life.
what is it to me?
It is the ability to do something risky for the overall positive outcome and long term advantage,
It might be risky now but now as the work gets put in it shouldn’t be as risky in the future.
What impact has it made in my life?
It has been huge! I never would have made the progress/personal growth. because it is so important that you realise the choices you have.
A short example of my circumstances
I had left the hospital 3 months after having had a stroke that caused me to lose all function in my left side, I could not walk 20 metres the stroke team at the time was not available due to being stretched so thin, a member of that team told me about “Positive risk-taking” she explained to me that it was up to me if I wanted to put the work in because they could not help me and because I wasn’t in the hospital where I was confined to my chair with staff coming in & out of my room,
I took the chance and opportunity and used that resolve to get to where I am now! I will continue to use this focus and resolve to push myself further and further.
What should you do?
Take a risk: you get one chance in life and you should take it, or don’t it’s your choice but if you want change to happen, make it happen. all I can tell you is that if I didn’t do I would be stuck in chair unable to do anything.
instead I’m sitting in a computer chair typing this out happily, hoping that at least one person this message may inspire you to do something and that a small stone may topple down eventually gathering speed & causing more stones to move to cause a crumbling of a mountain of insecurity, anxiety, fear, and for you to walk freely unshackled and unburdened by any of this.
