What was the best compliment you’ve received?
That I’m remarkably happy, given the rollercoaster of a life I’ve been through. It’s strange when i think about it. After all, my mother left when I was 11. I went to the worst period of my life in the years, after still being very hurt and trying to heal in the most destructive environments at home and school, and a very sheltered life. Eventually, I got to experience a life outside of this, but I was unequipped to deal with things being thrown at me. I guess that sheltered life was coming back to bite me.
After a turbulent time of juggling school and trying to look after a close family member, I eventually was forced to drop out of my education due to conflicts. I faced a turbulent 18 months between having someone to look after, legal battles, and now financial difficulties and pressure from outside forces. Life was catching up to me, and I could no longer take the strain of this cue my stroke, which took place right after Christmas.
it was only after that stroke where i went throuhg my lowest point for mental health but thankfully i made the decision to turn my life around and change things for the better. I took my mental health seriously, i had time to spend digging into philosophy, I got to know my close friends and thankfully enjoy the simpler things in my life.
I’ve gotten to see both sides of the coin when it comes to mental health, and I’ve had plenty of opportunity to take those bad sides out on people, and thankfully I haven’t. My attitude toward life is centred around treating others as i want to be treated, while putting the most good in the world that I can.
A quote I once heard and think of daily is the most prescient thing I can end this post off with. It goes like this;
Everyday might not be good, but there is good in everyday!
